Our mission is to improve the oral health of children in Orange County through collaborative programs directed at prevention, outreach and education, access to treatment and advocacy.Prevention:Healthy Smiles is the lead agency of the Orange County Pediatric Oral Health Collaborative, a coordinated group of community clinics offering safety net dental services to children. The Collaborative provides prevention and treatment services for children at eight fixed community clinic locations. Education:The Healthy Smiles Community Outreach team provides community outreach services and educate families on proper oral health, nutrition, oral hygiene and preventative services.Treatment: The Smile Center offers undeserved children affordable and prompt pediatric dental care. Occupying the entire second floor, the Smile Center makes available a full range of diagnostic, preventive and restorative treatment including but not limited to dental check-ups, restorative care and general anesthesia. Additionally, Healthy Smiles has two fully functional mobile dental clinics which allow for accessible dental care.Advocacy:Among chronic childhood diseases, tooth decay is the most common - yet it is preventable. Bacterial infection from a decayed tooth, if left untreated, may spread leading to severe toothaches, inflammation of the face and even death.  At Healthy Smiles For Kids of Orange County, we believe no child should ever suffer from untreated tooth decay.
