Dr. Klonsky graduated from the NYU College of Dentistry in 1980 as class valedictorian. He received his periodontal training at the NY Veterans Administration Medical Center from 1981 to 1983. Implant placement in its current form was introduced during this time period.Dr. Klonsky began placing implants in 1985 and has been involved since then as the science has evolved and progressed. Dr. Klonsky has been on the faculty at the NYU College of Dentistry since 1986. For the last 12 years, he has been an assistant clinical professor and the attending periodontist in the Department of Continuing Education program on Aesthetic Dentistry and Smile Design. Here he performs periodontal plastic surgery on clinic patients undergoing smile makeovers while the doctors enrolled in the program observe. Dr. Klonsky has provided Invisalign care for his patients since its inception. It has the benefit of correcting crowding spacing and misalignment as well as improving function and appearance.
